O Antiphons, 2011

Each Advent beginning December 17 the church sings the O Antiphons at Vespers (Evening Prayer) and has done so for over 1200 years. Each antiphon proclaims a title of the long desired Christ Child. It is a tradition of over 40 years in our monastery for the Abbas or someone she designates to prepare a meditation for the day's antiphon to be read at Lauds (Morning Prayer). This year Sister Mary-Ellen is presenting the O Antiphon Meditations. Recordings are available.
